The shot I'm posting today is "Woman at Templo de Nuestra Señora de La Salud" (Church of Our Lady of Health). This photo was shot in San Miguel de Allende during a workshop led by Arthur Meyerson Photography.

The woman in this photo was just leaving the church, probably after stopping in for some prayers during her daily routine. I was standing in a plaza nearby when i saw her coming out of the church, illuminated by warm late afternoon light, and I quickly zoomed in with a 70-300 zoom on my Nikon and snapped three shots. 

If you go to this link: https://fromalaskatobrazil.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/church-front.jpg - what you can see is a band of amber paint on either side of the entrance to the church. She left the church and made a right turn, and supported herself with a hand on the wall. That paint is about 4 to 4.5 feet high, and she doesn't reach the top of the band of color! She is very tiny and very old but still radiates a certain beauty and grace, and I always wished that I knew the story of her life.

I love everything about this shot: her sweater and scarf (even though it was typically warm Mexico weather), her dress, the Bolsa she is holding, the bold shadow, and the texture and color of the wall behind her. 

As far as I know, no one has this shot on their wall (with the exception of my Mom!). I've always wondered whether people like this shot as much as I do, so please comment and let me know!
